Critters
Neal is the farm boss. She runs the show around here.
At dawn and again at dusk, you’ll find her in the barn feeding her horses, alpacas, dogs, and BC, the barn cat. During the day, she’s training, riding, birthing, planting, harvesting, and baking crusty breads for dinner. She’s become a regular earth mother.
You’ll see that we spend a great deal of our time planting and weeding the native grasses, shrubs and trees that support the recovery of local wildlife. Thus far, we’ve completed a stream restoration project along a quarter-mile stretch of the Walla Walla River with the help of the Tri-State Steelheaders and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. And we’ve planted native trees, shrubs and grasses to expand riparian habitat in two spots along the river with the help of the National Resources Conservation Service and the Farm Services Administration.
